»Thanks for your comment - Of course note, as every new technique it is not against the existing ones but rather an addition to our armamentarium. As you know for sure distal AVFs have 50-60% maturation failure rates according to the literature especially in patients with diabetes, calcified arteries, multiple previous surgeries and IV placed in the forearm. In these patients Proximal radial artery inflow is an excellent solution (instead of a brachial artery inflow). The surgical PRA AVF has well been described in terms of advantages and technical details (see recent publication by Jennings et al in JVS). Ellipsys offers a percutaneous alternative - please check our recent publication in JVS (Mallios et al)«
