Syncopal episode with spontaneous bleeding of common femoral artery and pulmonary embolism
Female patient, 72 yo, obesity, hypertension and cerebral hemorrhage in 2003 in her history. She was admitted due to a syncopal episode. Brain CT was negative. Body-CT revealed an active bleeding from the deep (PFA) and common femoral artery (CFA) and massive pulmonary thromboembolism (TEP). A selective embolization with Onyx and a covered stent was deployed to treat the bleeding. Catheter-directed thrombolysis (AngioJet) was performed to treat TEP and an IVC filter was deployed for DVT.
